We’re hiring! Do you want to be our new Associate Editor?

The cover of Vol. 2: METROPOLIS of The Suburban Review sits flat on a tabletop covered in a lace tablecloth. The cover shows a room, 3 walls and the wall are visible. Each wall is awash with a different shade of red or orange.

About us
The Suburban Review (TSR) is a socially conscious literary collective situated in Australia’s rapidly declining independent publishing landscape. Conceived in 2013, TSR is a literary collective publishing a quarterly digital journal. Our mission is to create and contribute to a robust local publishing community. We do this by publishing 44 writers and artists each year, both emerging and established, and by practising sustainable, growth-oriented publishing in our team of 8 editors.

TSR’s headquarters are in Narrm/Melbourne and Eora/Sydney, but we publish work across Australia. After almost 7 years of consistent excellence, we are established as a force in the Australian creative community known for high quality work, exciting digital aesthetics, and our dedicated, collaborative editing process. We know that excellent content requires excellent contributors and editors. Equally, we know that all creative labour deserves remuneration, and our great success (an ambitious first among unaffiliated literary magazines) in 2018 was instituting guaranteed payments to editorial staff in line with the contributor fees we have offered since 2013.
