ELLEN CREGAN #4: March

Artwork by Joseph Lynch
Artwork by Joseph Lynch

your land will expel

roman pottery

and fox bones in thousands

of fine, yellowed pieces

as mine is saturated

woken from its dehydration.

skeletal foliage will

thaw, reawaken –

verdant evergreens will

soon blanche beside it

steel batteries

will become ancient

soak their joints with salt spray

and crumble into the sea

the stagnation of winter

will not last

the earth will turn

around again.
