The Moon

Her favorite part of the day was sunset

She felt free knowing the night was hers

She never was a morning person and dreaded sunrise

She couldn’t get up there fast enough

up

up

up

She flew

Glowing AS SHE SOARED

The blue darkness smothering her

Pulling at her hands

Her only companions

The

Tiny pinholes scattered around her

Shimmering quietly amongst themselves

Like scales on a fish.

She was the brightest and boldest……..

It could be lonely being the best

But knowing she was adored made it bearable

She used to dream of shattering into a million little sparks and slotting in amongst the other stars

But no amount of shimmering would cut it

Even though she would never ever met him

She took great comfort knowing he was around

He is in fact

so important that people cannot gaze longingly at him for too long cause their eyeballs will explode

She was attracted by his mystery

His simple mind and status

His quiet danger

(And even though he appeared to be the brightest and featured in more screen saver images than her)

She decided he was probably just as lonely at the top as her

And

She

Couldn’t

Live

Without

Him.
